About the Poem

An unknowing of the day that's passing - An unknowing of what is to come, and a silent cry in the heart for paradise - An unknowing in the heart, the long wait...

Unknowing

From the handle I hold above the swing,
I watch with young eyes o' sky blue.
As I cling for dear life, the whisper inside
Saying, "O, a day so young with peace",
Not a tear runs down my cheek.
My heart frozen in the face of days to come,
I look up, a sky passing aboveth.
My heart lets out, but days come old...
Looking down is the sharp but soothing grass,
Looking around is the fence of the earth;
Joy gone inside me, before the day dawns.
Not a thought of naught in me, but flight
To the dear place oh so far above the skies,
Where eternal being there is to carry me.
