About the Poem
Beginning and ending - people are sometimes so engrossed with the two that they forget what happens in the middle. This poem was written for my brother who died a short time ago.
The Temporal Heart |
by Andrew Carrie |
The temporal heart beats out it's new arrival My Genesis comes into being without consent With no thoughts other than to exist Leaving me to thoughts of my survival And when nature concludes my life spent She will lay me to rest for a time Until a new purpose has been found for me And like the Phoenix from the ashes, I will rise again. |

I really like your poem because it didn't make me cry. It made me happy to remind myself that we all rise again. I lost my best friend no mor than a month ago and I miss her so much, more now than I did at first I think. I dream of her every night and I see her in everything I do. Everyone always says, it's o.k., she's in heaven now. I wish that could comfort me at first it did in a way because I knew she believed very strongly in God and I was always so inspired by her because she didn't judge me just because I didn't share that belief. Your poem comforted me a little and for that I give thanks and vote for your poem here. I was also very well written of course, it didn't sound juvenile and repetative.
