About the Poem

The greatest gift ever given to man is so often lost amidst the wrapping paper, cooking, shopping, and the one million other things that must be done! Quiet reflection on this incredible gift brings such a sweet release from all the tension! The only way to truly enjoy the Holidays!

Heaven's Song

A babe for us was born of humble birth
In stable crude He came in lowliness
God's special gift for all the sons of earth
His favor shown to man in graciousness.

His coming told by prophets long ago
So fervently they longed to see His day
Messiah, Son of God, sent to bestow
Salvation free to those in error's way.

Hosannas to the King was heaven's song
'Neath Bethlehem's star-sprinkled velvet sky
Still ages past angelic beings long
To comprehend redemption from on high.

Receive His gift, it came at quite a cost
His life He paid to seek and save the lost.

This poem really touched me! After I read the poem I closed my eyes and began to mdeditate and worhsip the Lord for His only begotten Son, Jesus. Oh what a night it was - the day Jesus came into the world. What a day of celebration a day of the world's salvation! Jesus is the only true gift that can be given.
