About the Poem

I wrote this poem for someone very special to me. The first time I saw her, she reminded me of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet.

We once had a strong relationship, but through circumstances it faded away. That didn't mean I stopped caring for her. And maybe one day?

Lost And Found

There is a storm in my heart
It tears my inside apart
I am bleeding and I am hurt
Like a wingless little bird

Then it turns dark
And for a moment I see
The pain that was inside of me
And on a journey I embark

In search of answers
In search of truth
In search of understanding
In search of you

My guiding star in darkness
Like a little stream in the desert
Everything about you seems flawless
But that is what causes the hurt

Your perfect features do not belong to me
You do not deserve my chains
You need to live and see
What it means to be free

So spread your wings and fly away
For I can not fulfill your dream
But if you should fall one day
I'll guide you and be that little stream

So go and discover it all
And know that wherever you go
Whatever you do and might feel
The only thing you need to do is call

Please let this poem reach my close friend. I found such an amazing person called Anne and I hurt her. I seem to think about her all the time, especially when I find pictures of her. Then I remember her and the fun we had. like the time we were in this attic and the door was so small. She told me not to hit my head as she backed up to leave and guess what she did. I miss her so much and as a fellow writer I would love to share my poetry but this pain is so intense I need calming before I can write. This is a really good poem for couples who r going to break up and after they do they think they dont have to talk to each other well you will always need each other no matter if your relationship fails or if it gets better but to me this is what the poem said to me and I loved it it had good tone and it did not completly rhyme like all the others it was unique

1970 I was torn apart from a girl that was my soul mate. When I returned from war, Iwas lost and she became lot to me.2001 We are now by chance reunuted and the friendship is still in our hearts although we have spouses and familys. Your poem rings true for many who know the loss of a friend.
