About the Poem

Those of you who have spent some time at Passions know I consider these descriptions important. So when this poem came over the wire and Dane explicitly noted he had chosen to not write the description, I was ready to put it aside, into my "unusuable" folder.

Then I read the comment Dane had attached to the end of his submission, and was immediately touched by its honest, simple sincerity. "I really enjoyed this experience, and if you put this poem on, it'd mean everything to me and my beautiful wife."

How could I not post his poem after that?

I Once Was Lost, But Now Am Found

I saw you standing by the door,
I said, Hey, what's in store?
I knew I loved her.
I knew I cared.
I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her
but I was just too scared.

I let her go.
She started to leave.
But I chased after her,
I told her my feelings.
She told me hers.
We spent that glorious night together,
then she told me her name was Heather

Now I am married to her.
I still love her so.
