About the Poem

Something so gentle and tender as a kiss will forever serve to remind us that love always has been (and always will be) such a binding part of the human experience. It has trickled down through the ages until now. In the same way, remnants of our love for each other will continue on through the ages affecting those who follow after us.

This poem was written after spending some time one beautiful summer day with a close friend of mine. Ironically the man who created the moment that inspired this poem has never seen it. Likewise, we too never know the consequences of our love in the lives of others...still, I encourage you to share your love openly for it brings out the hidden beauty in those that you care for and changes the world that we live in.

In a Touch

Kiss me and know
As your lips brush mine
That you are touching

a thousand summer days
four hundred winter nights
sleepless and cold
the sand from the farthest star
and the earth beneath our feet
the music of the first one who sung
the faith of the first one who prayed
the magic of the first one who dared
to be something more
to go farther
to search deeper
the dreams of many scattered through the
skies
moondust
and star-stuff
hope
joy
and love
circulating through the universe
contained within a single drop of dew.
