About the Poem

When, after years of searching, you find that soul that perfectly matches your own, you realize that love is forever.

When I Saw You

What subtle shades of grace defined
you in that forever moment,
frozen into my memory on the hour
we became one.

This is a poem about an old love,
that is at once, and forever, and
will always be a new love.

When I saw you first, you stood bravely
upon God's alter and let me slip
that sacred ring of trust upon your
lithe and graceful finger.

Knowing in my heart, my love for you
will always remain as deep and as
true as the moment you said "I take thee . . . "
