About the Poem
This poem was written to express my sadness of loving someone to a great extent and not having the same level of emotion returned. For this reason we could not be together as I wanted to receive the same as that which I gave him, all of my innermost feelings, the contents of my heart and soul. For me it was painful beyond what I had ever imagined. This is the very first poem I have written as it is the first time I have felt strongly enough about anything to write something like this and have just built up the courage to have other people read it!
Watching My Dreamer Dream |
by Sadia Khan |
I hear a sigh in my sleep . . . it awakens me I turn to see what it could be . . . it's you I hear stirring in your sleep I watch you as you sink again Your head into the softness there below A jet of light illuminates your cheek As if to say to kiss you there Instead I watch you while you sleep And dream the dreams which you seek I wonder what those dreams could be Since dreams and reality converged to this . . . for me I wish to be in those dreams . . . then maybe I could be What you seek, which is kept secret from me . . . and are only in my dreamer's dreams |
