About the Poem

I was captured by love unexpectedly when I was busy with my life. Before I knew it, love embraced the very core of me and awakened my soul.

Broken Chains

All day long I tangle with these questions
of unanswered fate and inevitable truths,
these teasing aches that haunt my soul
and the very thought of you makes me fall to my knees.
Where was I when all of this happened?
When did I lose myself
and where did I go?
I am looking for you in this vast jungle,
vines creeping to me, reaching for me
and you - peeking out from the chain of them.
I see you there, arms stretched out,
waiting for me to run and fold you in.
My eyes catch your gaze
and search the depths of your soul
where we meet and collide, once again.
I fall into you and all constricting things break free.

Christine
This poem has totally touched my heart. My father just recently passed away, as well as my grandmother and grandfather, all within 5 months of each other. I was blessed to have been able to lead my father to Christ before he passed after not having a relationship with him for 20+ years. When he realized he would now go to heaven he was so over joyed. He was excited that one day all his family would be together again in heaven. "the chain will link again"
