About the Poem

I'm a older student. I'm 43. In the past year, I've fallen in love with a man that I met in a chat room. We've gotten very close and most of my poetry is for and about him.

This is a poem about the joy of sharing time and love with someone special.

The Night

Laying here next to you

Watching you sleep.

You're breathing so soft.

My fingers trace

The line of your jaw.

You stir a little.

I softly kiss your mouth.

The kiss becomes a smile

As your fingers

Run through my hair.

Sharing the last glass of wine.

One arm around me

The other reaching for the light.
