About the Poem

This poem is about love that has gone unnoticed, but is finally brought to light. It is about watching the one you love making mistakes in love, and not being brave enough to tell them how you feel.

And it is about the joy that comes when the courage to open your heart appears.

Isn't

I noticed you
Speaking to my friend over there
She's witty
Isn't she
But what you don't know
Is that every
Word she speaks
Comes straight from
My mouth

I noticed you
Noticing my friend over there
She's pretty
Isn't she
But what you don't know
Is that what you think
You see inside
Comes straight from
My soul

So I'll sit here
Feeling like Cyrano
Never able to reach
My Roxanne
Because stupid me
Put my friend
In between
Not able to deal
With defeat

I noticed you
Not noticing me over here
It's funny
Isn't it
But what you don't know
Is that perfect package
You think you see
Isn't
Its me
