About the Poem
The poem takes the reader through the stages of meeting someone, having strong feelings for them but being unable to have them. This poem explains a three month period of my life, from September to December last year and the meeting with a girl called Elizabeth.
It talks of the great attractions between us both in the first verse. Then in the second speaks of ways of attracting her. Finally in the final verse it speaks of my wonder as to who she really loves, because she has a boyfriend. We were both attracted to one another over this period of time but neither of us could do anything about it. I wrote the poem in December.
Three Months |

Dawn breaks. Thou who'st fiery eyes doth melt a lover's heart Amidst a sea of intrigue and wonder, Would force one unwillingly to think why The petting lust doth not paint great love. Could words of attraction, Actions of discreet sexual advances attract such beauty? And then for eternity be sculptured as one, Breathing as one, living as one. Again night falls. Dreams explode galleries of images of possibilities, Reality drapes the first Queen's love for another. But for whom doth the Queen's heart enclose? Is't the Jester, the looker, the looked at? Only the Queen knows. Unwinding. |
