About the Poem

I wrote this not long after I ended a very long relationship with a man I thought would be "the one." I ended things painfully and abruptly and the first time we ended up seeing each other again was at this wedding

Their Wedding

The last time that I saw you
We were at "their wedding"
It seemed ironic to me
That we had laughed at them
And said that they would never make it-
"Their" relationship was nothing compared to ours.
Our love was so much stronger.
We trusted each other completely.
Our hearts were one for eternity.
Yes, it is ironic that we met up again
At "their wedding"
How we said they would never make it.
How we said we always would...
