This poem is about a girl who has went out with a guy and lost him twice but she still loves him.

I've Lost You Twice

I lie awake at night,
and wonder if you know.
If you knew I loved you,
even though it didn't show.

I lost you once,
and thought I'd never cope.
I wanted to hang myself,
with that tightly entwined rope.

I got you back once,
and prayed to God that it would last.
But it ended in a heartbeat,
It ended way too fast.

I sometimes hold your picture,
and cry myself to sleep.
I think of how I still love you,
and how my love's so deep.

No one understands,
not even my best friend.
That I want to be with you,
Until my life's to end.

I remember that night,
the night that we first met.
I thought to myself,
"This is love, I bet."

If it wasn't for my best friend,
I never would have met you.
Then I did, I got you, and lost you...twice,
so what am I to do?

i love this poem, my heart stops when i read it. i have/had a boyfriend, we dated for 3 years then we broke up because he moved. then, we met up again, and we started, but as soon as i thought i was falling in love again, it was over, i still love him soo much though!

This poem describes exactly what i went through today. i am in 8th grade. i know i am too young for love. but i had someone special, someone that i held close to my heart. then he shattered my heart into peices today, on October 13th, 2004. he broke my heart twice and i just wanted to let him know that i still love him!

I really liked this poem. My ex whos name is also Jessica did the same thing to me. In fact everything about your poem fits my life (from the perspective of the guy) except the copyrite date of 99 lol. Makes me sad and yet comforted to know this happens to others. I will never understand why some people continually wreck the things that make them happy but I bet you do.
