About the Poem

A rose can mean so much. Yet it never quite lives up to what it is supposed to. Love forever, happiness and cheer - once the rose dies, I have learned that those things can also.

A Rose Smile

A sweet red rose
Will always remind me
Of your sweet summers smile
Which lifted the clouds
For miles and miles
It seemed to cheer me up
Whenever I was down
It could reverse the worst frown

Its only been a while but already
I miss
Everything from your laugh
To your sweet gentle kiss
I miss the way you could
cheer me up on any kind of day
The way we could talk for hours
Without repeating one thing

Our love was unique
Like a dove kissed rose
Given to a special woman
on Valentines Day
In my heart that's
How its going to stay
Special, until my
Very last day
