About the Poem
This poem is for those of us who get tired of the traditionally happy Valentines day. Although a sad tone is used here, it is mostly about someone finding the strength to not settle for less than what they deserve.
To My Valentine |
by Saxoness |
Once upon A time There was Truth to the Myth of what You And I Had found In a blank paged Fairy tale. Snow White Doesn't sleep In a casket made of Glass Slippers will break If you wear them. Walk across this Written word With fingers Gently Seeking Loving You And me No more. He loves Me He loves me! Not Enough. To: My Valentine Will you Be mine No longer . . . |

I can really relate to this poem. I had a fairytale romance that was so seamless. It was almost too perfect. The man of my dreams filled to the brim with honesty and loyalty. Too bad I found that out and got too close too late (but it happened so quickly). I believed our mutual friend whom we met through. That was the biggest mistake of my life. I let that friend manipulate me. His intentions were malicious because he had wanted me for himself. He sabotaged the relationship. The only difference between me and this poem is that I want that Valentine. But, if he cannot accept me for being human and making mistakes he is not the Valentine for me. It's sad though.
