About the Poem

Empathy, I feel, is a trait that too few possess. If we all took the time to think about the precious days of life then maybe we would not be so quick to make faulty or premature judgements of people. Specifically those of different races. This poem is about the unification or "Blending" of all races of man. Or will we meet in a far less peaceful fate?

Blend

Caught between the teeth, of a stereotypical vice.
Is it the color of my skin, by which you judge my life?

And maybe you’re afraid, afraid of what you cannot understand.
Maybe someday we can all walk as one, the blending of man.

Tangled in the fabric, of a world that lives in sin.
Know you’ll never fall upon the truth, if you refuse to look within.

And maybe you’re afraid, afraid of what you cannot understand.
Maybe someday we can all walk as one, the blending of man.

Trapped within the rules, of an angry biased world.
Waiting for the war, the war that we all fear.

Divided we fall.

I must say that this poem must be commended as a job well done. In our society today alot of us are being ill-treated because of our colour or religion and that should not be. I am black and some time when I ride on the buses and I sit beside a white person they would either put on a funny face or prevent themselves from touching me and that is not right because we should be living as one. Please don't get me wrong. I'm not racist just expressing my feelings.
