About the Poem

I wrote this for my friend I met in 6th grade. As soon as I met her, I realized that she was the person I wanted to grow up with. The person I wanted to share my dorm with, the person I wanted to share all my secrets with, the person I wanted to remember forever. She was everything.

She was honest, nice, funny, cheerful, and best of all, sweet. In 7th grade we started talking a little more, and then it turned into going and doing things together. But, then at the end of 7th grade, as our friendship was getting better and better, my aunt decided to put me in a different school the following year.

Well, I think Rachel and I would have become best friends if I'd stayed at the school I was at. But I guess I'll never know!

Rachel

I'll always remember her,
in good times and in bad.
I'll always remember,
the good friend that I had.

Next year we'll be at different schools.
We'll have new teachers, new friends,
and al new rules.

I'll always remember,
the good times that we had.
And with her in my heart,
I'll never feel bad!

Every time I saw her,
She made me feel better.
I liked her more then anything,
the day that I met her.

I wish we could've been best friends.
That way I'd know she'd remember me,
till the very end!

As our school year comes to an end,
I'll always remember her,
as my "wanna be" best friend.

Hi! This is really nice, but me and my best friend (also called Rachel!) have not been at the same school since we were ten, we are nearly 17 now. Being at different schools we are better friends than we have ever been. We have other friends but she is my absolute best. Try to keep in touch with Rachel, it sounds like you have a lot in common so don't throw that away. Well done.

i ABSOLUTLY LOVE this poem! i can relate to it SO much. i'm in 7th grade and i'm not popular. i made the school softball team and thats where it all started. Jamie, the best player on the team, is the most popular girl in school and i just met her this year in softball. anyway, i got her screen name from a friend and i was having a HORRIBLE winter break so i thought what the heck i'll IM her. and i did. we talked for hours and she helped me out SO much. she is the nicest person i ever met. but since she is so popular shes got a lot of other friends so i dont even see her at school and im moving at the end of the year and i love her SO much and she says she loves me too (i'm talking bout the friend type of love here for all of u ppl that r just weird like that) anyway i feel as though she is my best friend and im just a friend to her. so i can definatly see where the "ill always remember her as my 'wanna be' best friend" comes from, because she is my "wanna be best friend"
jenna

I loved this poem so much. My friend Ashley is going to a new school and we where VERY close. Im thinking of saying this poem to the eighth grade graduating class of 2000 and dedicating to a great friend. Of course i would need Gap's permission. Please consider! Thank You!
Rachel
i liked this poem very much
rachel
i think this poem is the best one i have ever heard before. it totally explains how freindships are broken apart, but yet they will always last in someones heart and i really enjoyed it, seeing that my name is rachel and just three years ago i went through the exact same thing with my best friend. she ended up moving back and we will never apart again!
