About the Poem
This poem was written for a friend of mine who was trying to decide what to do with his marriage. Sometimes, for varied reasons, we often feel trapped in the life we are in. At these times, we feel no one really understands who we are or what we need. God always cares.
My Silent Screams |
by Judy Burnette |
I'm hurting on the inside God, do you see how I feel? This time my heart is worn out And I don't know if it will heal. This woman stands before me Who was once my bride; The love that I used to feel Somehow it has died. There are so many things I would like to say; Silently my heart yearns For brighter, happier days. I want to do the right thing It's not that I am a saint; I would like to say I love her But inside God,...I can't. I don't know what the future holds There is so much I can't see; But God, at this time in my life You will have to love her for me. I know I can't find the words I can't make my love like new; I give to you all the painful years And my hurting heart too. Please take my heart and heal it Put you love in its place; Then when we look at each other We will see a reflection of your grace. |

I don't know why I chose to read this poem because I was looking for a poem about rosebuds. I am so glad I did. I hope anyone that is going through a difficult time in thier marriage will read this poem. I am in a loving marriage now but at one time I had problems and gave up. So many times we give up instead of giving God charge of our problems. A beautiful poem.
