About the Poem
I had written this poem to stretch my imagination, by trying to write from a darker perspective and adding sinister consequences to the choices we are all faced with in life. In it's own subtle way, it is saying that we have the choice on how strong this "creature of the night" or darker side of us, truly is in the end....

The Feeding |
by Jason Silverthorne |
the life I see of misery upon me it depends to make it hale or make it meek feeding it with my sins my doubts are its favorite drink and upon my fear it sups of my resistance it never thinks it knows that I’ll give up once I sought the light of day a folly at its best the darker path a better way to give my soul unrest in the shadows of my mind in the darkness found therein lurks the creature of the night feeding upon my sins |
