About the Poem

This poem was written in a moment of frustration, to express the frustrations of trying to meet the girl I love.

She lives in California, and I live in Liverpool, England, and we fell in love 4 months ago. From that day forward we have been trying to meet, finally arranging it for Valentine's day.

However fate took a stand and illness prevented her from making the trip. This is my dedication to her, promising I will never give up.

How Many Times?

How many times can a man cry, before the tears fade away?
To be locked up inside, never seeing the light of day.

How many times can you look within yourself to find the right way
When the answers are blocked by others, intent on obstructing the way?

How many times do you follow your faith, what you know is right?
before you succumb to the whispers, rumors and lies in the night.

When you are forced to question what you love time and again
what is to stop you succumbing, giving it all up, and ceasing the pain?

I will never succumb because of the true strength of our love
there is no doubt in my mind, and heart, that the love is strong enough

For you are my faith, my belief, the end to all my strife.
because, whatever the odds, the obstacles, you will be my wife
