About the Poem
This poem describes how I would feel if only I had you and nothing else. And how the world would seem to me if only I had you.
If Only I Had You |
by Kenneth Carmichael |
You know those tropical flowers with the long names? They wouldn't have to bloom and summer wouldn't have to creep closer in June, And the long days wouldn't have to turn and the sun it wouldn't have to burn, And no the sky wouldn't have to shine blue... if only I had you. No longer must the green grass grow or rivers flow, And honestly, there doesn't have to be any rainbows. If only I had you the world can go do whatever, wherever, Because we're finally together... but the rain doesn't have to fall The moon doesn't have to scream and beam across the night, And nothing has to be wrong and nothing has to feel right, If only I had you the world could finally stop spinning And my dead end road would finally have a new beginning |
