About the Poem
This poem is about love distant but not lost. It just attempts to tell things the way they were on that weekend and they way they mostly are still. She is an endless inspiration to me but I have no idea when I'll see her again. The poem probably also is about hope.
Cold But Still There |
by Kantmadur |
As white as the snow outside and it kept us drinking for three days, our voices raw from smoking, talking possibilities, and singing old songs, everybody both hunter and prey - We knew our game well. You've been there, for you have lived as I have. It's nothing new, nothing that hasn't been done, Just partying, But despite everything, you never left my mind, even though you're on the other side of the ocean. On that winter weekend the blizzards reigned outside - a world based on music cigarettes drugs screws laughter friendship and haze. But I only saw your eyes green as aurora borealis, your hair like an element of nature, and would have murdered for the touch of your hand on my cheek. |
