About the Poem

Time stands still as well as your heart while separated from the ones you love. I hope this poems gives encouragement through those times of loneliness.

Separation

As I eagerly await for you.
My heart beats so fast.
For I'm glad that you, my love,
Are coming home at last.
The days since you've been gone.
Seems like time suspended.
Long periods of missing you.
Will soon now be ended.

In times ahead, I know there'll be
More times away from you.
Endless days and sleepless nights.
I know I'll suffer through.
The only peace that I can find
While you're away from me,
That soon, my love, that long road back
My lonely heart will free.

In August of this year I went on my yearly vacation to Europe. I met a girl there, my love. After several days of heaven together we got am apartment together on a little island in the Adriatic Sea. This December she is coming to California and we will be married. Unfortunately because of family ties she has to return, after we marry, until we resolve the difficulties that keep us apart. She may only be able to come for a few months at a time, but eventually we will be together. Your poem fit perfect.
