About the Poem
This is a poem about falling in love when the world is against you, and finding safety and comfort within that love.
Heart's Retreat |
by Sheila Blair |
I swam out under the waterfall, The river raining down, Teardrops filled with rainbows, Sunshine all around. In that dewy retreat, Hidden out of view, Engulfed in raging motion, I stilled my heart for you. Your love, a subtle ripple, Brief touch upon the sea, It swept around my life, my soul, Gently encircling me. A message within your deep brown eyes, Promised paradise. Wide world captured in your gaze, Earth, Wind, Fire and Ice Come swim with me, my cherished one, Behind the safe cascade, Allow your heart to beat with mine, Our love will find a way. |
