About the Poem

My words in "I Want" epitomize everything I want out of another person. To live is to love, and to love is to be completely immersed in the soul of another being. I envy those who have experienced everything "I Want", because I am still waiting.

I Want

I want to fall in love
and be loved- -
the way I deserve to be.
I want to wake up happy,
and go to bed elated
I want to love to live,
and live to love
I want to believe in fate,
and swear by chance
I want to feel safe,
and offer security
I want to get butterflies
from the touch of a hand,
and smile
at the sound of a voice
I want to be in someone's thoughts,
and monopolize someone's dreams
I want to be a significant other,
and to possess a better half
I want to fall in love
and be loved -
the way I deserve to be.
