About the Poem
My poetry was never as good as it was after meeting my fiancée. I was silently screaming for inspiration and she heard me. She lives in Canada and I live in California. We met in the Middle East. Our story is filled with incredible emotional endurance, and a high tolerance of long periods of loneliness. I wrote this quick poem a few weeks before she was to visit me. We had been apart for six months, our longest period, and I was starting to falter. She always shows up in the nick of time. She landed in the Middle East just a few days before I left . . .

With frequent sips On your wanting lips See there as reality slips My heartbeat flips passion drips The distance rips One- week trips are fine, but I want those fingertips entwined with mine |
