About the Poem

I had this boyfriend once who meant the world to me, but no one could see past the fact that he was pale, tall, and really skinny. Everyone made fun of me. I almost broke up with him, but then I realized that no matter what someone looks like, if you truly love them, they are perfect. Perfect on the inside as well as the outside. I'm not with him anymore, but I still talk to him, and we reminisce about the way that things used to be, and how happy we were. To this day, I'm glad that I realized what I did, because after we broke up, I had the greatest friend in the world, and I still love him more than anything.

Beyond The Naked Eye

Love is an unstable being
For it has no size, shape, or color,
No form that you can hold tight to
Love is blind
For it sees no prejudice
You are a stable being
You have a solid shape
One that I can hold tight
My love for you is blind
I notice no imperfections
Just the qualities that make you an individual
An individual that loves me for who I am
You see no imperfection
Just the qualities that make me an individual
Everyone meets someone
With a caring heart and a gentle soul
Someone who will see you through
Stormy nights and sunny days
Someone who can look in your eyes
And see your soul
Someone who says I love you
And means it with all that they are
I am not stable
So please hold on tight
And give me a solid shape to lean on
And never let go.
