About the Poem
Missing him ...
Tears In Rain |
by Rosemary J. Gwaltney |
What is it about tears In rain Those gray shadows casting Dampened spirits Across a lamplit street Forging fingerprints On oil-slick puddles What is it about rain In tears Stretching ghostly hands Through a city park From skeleton trees Your voice echoing In the wind |

A perfect little poem, nothing extraneous, nothing left out. So very physical. I can feel the damp and dank, the cold air through my nostrils as I inhale, the sound of a distant car driving through a puddle the smells of the end of Autumn, a tightness in my chest from a feeling I can't quite place.

Very well done! Unbelievably moving.
