About the Poem

When we break up with somebody it breaks our hearts. This poem describes my feelings after my best friend broke my heart and never looked back.

The Ceiling

I sit in my room, gazing at the ceiling.
These days it's an everyday routine, you know.
You took my heart like a thief in the night,
with the element of surprise behind you,
and I thought your love was real,
but it was really a charade,
Just as soon as you gave it to me, it faded away.
The ceiling looks better these days
